Exemption: Singapore & Brunei
Conditions for Issuance
- Submit the JPJK9 form (free).
- Approval from Malaysian Customs Port if entering via port.
- ICP valid 90 days; may be extended up to an additional 90 days (max 180 days/year) with State JPJ Director approval.
Note: Motor vehicles from Singapore and Brunei are exempt.
Entry Requirements for Private Vehicles
- RegisteredVehicle must be registered in country of origin.
- PlateRegistration in Roman letters. (Thai red plates not permitted.)
- Reg CertificateMust include Malaysian or English translation.
- InsuranceThird‑party coverage valid for Malaysia.
- Construction & UseComply with 1959 regulations.
- Window TransparencyFront: ≥70%; Side/rear mirrors: ≥50%.
- Driver's LicenceMalaysian or English translation required.
- HelmetMotorcyclists must wear helmets.
- Seat BeltsCar/van drivers (and passengers) must wear seat belts.
